returning to the theater we encountered thom lichtenstein offering flyers to stopped motorists at the intersection of university ave and mlk way. thom was a good representative for our station.
when a cabdriver declined a flyer, thom replied, 'better take one, some of your fares may want to know where the concert is.' the cabdriver took a flyer.
when a driver angrily asked, 'what about the other side?'  thom's response, 'the other side of free speech?'
thom was from napa, a town about 50 miles away. he comes down after work to do what he can.
